Portrait
I finished my studies of German Language and Literature und International History at Munich’s Ludwig Maximilians University in the nineties with final degree of Magistra Artium and state examination. Then I worked for two years at dtv’s (Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag) Rights’ centre, and afterwards for about twenty years as a freelancing copy-editor for various publishers. I am a member of Germany’s professional association of copy-editors (VFLL) and certified by the Academy of German Media (Akademie der Deutschen Medien – ADM). Since the end of 2007 together with my husband I am also running a literary agency representing general fiction and non-fiction titles on the German and international book market.
Philosophy
Words are wild,
free,
unreasonable
and not teachable.
Of course, you can catch them,
assort them,
and put them alphabetically in dictionaries.
But there, they are not living!
